Oh man, it’s happening.
Went to the “expo” yesterday (hard to call it that, really; it was very thin) and picked up my shizz. Treated myself to ice cream since I was there and so was it, and it wasn’t as delicious as I wanted it to be. Cool story, bro.
So, I’m not quite sure what’s going to happen here. I’m on day 5 of this cold, and it has migrated to my chest. I’ve been hacking for 24 hours. Thus, I’ve had zero taper. I kind of want to go out for a couple of miles today, but since it’s in my chest, I don’t want to put Saturday’s run in danger by doing something unnecessary. Gah. I’ll just do push ups, planks, and a few HIIT moves to keep the muscles firing. I don’t feel particularly bad anymore, I’m just trying to take all the expectorants and steam steam steam so that I get as much of this out of my chest as possible before Saturday. Unfortunately, I work from 12-8 tomorrow, so I’ll lose prime steaming time!
I’m not at all concerned about the stuffiness; I’m 100% a mouth-breather while running, but it’s pretty inevitable that I’m going to run this thing with chest congestion. Probably inadvisable, but I’ve worked too hard!
And I’m a stubborn sonofagun. Tips tips tips? How does one hack and spit in a crowd of 25,000? (Carefully.) Snot rockets aren’t my thing… I guess I’ll try to carry a few tissues?
